First Families of Henry County-A Division of The Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Counties, Inc.
Were your ancestors in Henry County by 1850? If so, you can honor them and identify yourself as a member of one of our first families. The Genealogical Society of Henry & Clayton Counties has a program to identify those early settlers and their descendants.
To become a member of this elite group, you will need to prove your direct descent from a family that settled in Henry County in or by 1850. There is an application to fill out, which must be accompanied by proofs for each generation (birth/death certificates, census records, wills, etc.). If you have ever completed an application for a hereditary society, you will find this one easy to do. Information submitted on the application will remain confidential for the three most recent generations.
Persons who qualify for First Families of Henry County GA will receive a certificate naming themselves and their ancestor.
The cost to register your first ancestor will be $30.00 and additional ancestors may be registered at a cost of $20.00 each. A certificate will be issued for each ancestor identified.
If you are interested in joining this elite group of Henry Countians, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope along with your request for an application to:
