Library and Collection
In our research rooms at the library, we have many state and county reference books and periodicals. We also have a staff of volunteers that can help you access the many genealogical web sites that are at the heart of our family history searches.
Below is a brief outline of some of the books and periodicals that we have in our collections that could aid you.
Roy W. Swann Military History Room
In this room you will find books on Colonial, Revolutionary, and Confederate soldiers; books about many states other than Georgia, including Alabama and the Carolinas.
William and Sara Smith Room
This sitting room was furnished in memory of Frances Smith Belcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith, who donated the Brown House to the Society's use. The walls of this room are decorated beautifully with Bing and Grondal plates, Norman Rockwell plates, Goebell Hummell plates, and hand-painted porcelain by Sarah B. Smith. American History, biographies, and Native American books are housed here.
